Report an Incident
If you are experiencing domestic abuse and there is an immediate risk to yourself or others, ring 999. Police will attend promptly to protect you.
Report a domestic violence incident to the police immediately. Nationally, it takes an average of 35 incidents before a victim goes to the police. If you don’t do something about it the first time domestic violence occurs, it is more than likely to happen again.
Don’t wait until you have been assaulted to contact the police. Trained domestic violence officers are available to give you advice on dealing with harassment or emotional abuse as well as physical abuse.
Each Divison within GMP has a domestic violence unit, staffed by experienced domestic violence officers who work in plain clothes. These officers are available to speak to you about any issues and are able to support you through the process or put you in touch with other agencies. You can contact your local domestic violence unit through the GMP switchboard on 0161 872 5050.
